The right partner protects your reputation

A white-label partner works behind your agency brand, but their decisions still reach your client. The cheapest quote is rarely the best comparison. Look for someone who can explain tradeoffs, surface risk early, and leave your team with a product you can confidently support.

A four-part evaluation

  1. Review the thinking, not only the screenshots

Ask how they handled scope changes, accessibility, testing, deployment, and a difficult technical decision. A polished portfolio does not show how a partner works when the plan changes.

  2. Test the communication loop

Run a small paid discovery exercise. Notice whether questions are specific, decisions are documented, and unknowns are made visible without unnecessary drama.

  3. Clarify ownership

Confirm who owns source code, accounts, credentials, design files, documentation, and post-launch fixes. Ownership should not depend on one person remaining available forever.

  4. Start with a bounded engagement

A defined first milestone gives both teams evidence about pace and collaboration before a larger client commitment is made.

A useful test

Ask the candidate to turn a rough client request into a short list of assumptions, open questions, and a proposed first release. The quality of that response is often more predictive than a long capabilities deck.
